These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of Matane (the "App"), an independently developed app. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The App is a personal memo app for remembering conversations with people you meet again after a while. The data you add is stored entirely on your own device and is never sent to the developer's or any other third party's servers. Please see the Privacy Policy for details.
The App lets you add information about third parties — such as friends, family, or work contacts — at your own discretion (names, contact details, photos, notes on conversations, etc.). Adding, storing, and deleting this information all happens on your own device, and you are responsible for handling it appropriately. Please be mindful of the privacy of the people you add, and use the App within reasonable limits.
Please do not use the App for any purpose that violates the law, unjustly infringes on the rights of a third party, or falls outside its intended use as a personal record of your relationships with other people.
The App is provided "as is." The developer makes no warranty of any kind regarding the App's completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Your saved data could be lost due to device failure or loss, an OS update, or similar events. We recommend regularly saving important records using the "Export a backup" feature in Settings. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App.
The App offers an optional paid plan (Matane Pro). All of the App's core features are fully available for free; the paid plan expands the limit on the number of people you can add and unlocks a few advanced features. Pricing and details are shown on the purchase screen within the App. Purchases are processed through the App Store's payment system, and refunds are handled according to Apple's policies.
We may change these Terms as the App's features evolve or as required by law. If we make a significant change, we will let you know within the App or on this page.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
